BIO
Deborah Linscott is a contemporary artist based in Inverclyde, Scotland.
Following a life-changing car accident, Deborah experienced a significant change in her physical and emotional wellbeing. During difficult periods of pain and anxiety, she found herself returning to drawing and painting in 2026, discovering a sense of calm, focus and connection. What began as a way of getting through difficult days gradually developed into a renewed and evolving artistic practice.
Deborah is drawn to everyday objects and the way they can be reduced to their essential forms. Strong outlines, blocks of colour and expressive marks create compositions that balance structure with spontaneity, sitting somewhere between observation and abstraction.
Her background is in Silversmithing & Jewellery Design, graduating from Glasgow School of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. During her time there, she also attended evening art classes, continuing to explore her interest in drawing and painting alongside her degree.
Her background in design and making continues to inform her approach to form, proportion and composition.
